Farklı Polisaj Sistemlerinin Rezin Kompozitlerin Yüzey Pürüzlülüğü Üzerine Etkisinin In vitro Olarak Değerlendirilmesi

GİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Bu in vitro çalışmanın amacı, on farklı rezin kompozitin yüzey pürüzlülüğü üzerine farklı polisaj sistemlerinin etkisini incelemektir.
YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: Test edilen her rezin kompozit için 60 örnek hazırlandı. Örneklerin hazırlanmasında 8 mm çapında, 2 mm derinliğinde pleksiglas kalıplar kullanıldı. Hazırlanan örnekler uygulanan polisaj işlemine göre beş alt gruba ayrıldı. Grup 1’de; örnek yüzeylerine herhangi bir polisaj uygulanmayarak kontrol grubu oluşturuldu. Grup 2’de; Clearfil Twist Dia, Grup 3’de; Pogo, Grup 4’de; Sof-Lex ve Grup 5’de; Super Snap kullanılarak örnek yüzeylerine polisaj işlemi uygulandı. Rezin kompozit örneklerin yüzey pürüzlülük ölçümleri profilometre cihazı kullanılarak üç farklı noktadan ölçüldü ve elde edilen yüzey pürüzlülük değerleri kaydedildi. Elde edilen veriler istatistiksel olarak Kruskal Wallis ve Mann Whitney U testi (Bonferroni düzeltmesi) ile %95 güven aralığında analiz edildi.
BULGULAR: Test edilen tüm rezin kompozitlerde, polisaj grupları arasında elde edilen yüzey pürüzlülük değerleri arasında anlamlı farklılığın olduğu görüldü (p<0.05). Geanial ve Gradia Direct haricinde, tüm rezin kompozitlerde kontrol grubunda anlamlı olarak daha düşük pürüzlülük değerleri elde edildi (p<0.05). Ayrıca, tüm polisaj gruplarında, test edilen rezin kompozitlerin pürüzlülük değerleri arasında anlamlı farklılığın olduğu tespit edildi (p<0.05).
TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: Estetik restorasyonlarda bitim ve polisaj işlemleri uygulanırken kullanılan rezin kompozitin özellikleri de göz önünde bulundurulmalıdır.

In vitro Evaluation of Different Polishing Systems on the Surface Roughness of Resin Composites

INTRODUCTION: Aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the effect of different polishing systems on the surface roughness of ten different resin composites.
METHODS: 60 samples were prepared for each resin composites. Plexiglass molds (8mm diameter and 2 mm depth) were used. The samples were divided into five subgroups according to polishing systems. Group 1: control (no polishing), Group 2: Clearfil Twist Dia, Group 3: Pogo, Gropu 4: Sof-Lex and Group 5: Super Snap. Surface roughness measurements were performed from three different points using a profilometer and surface roughness values were recorded. The obtained data were statistically analyzed with the Kruskal Wallis and Mann Whitney U test (Bonferroni correction) at 95% confidence interval.
RESULTS: Significant differences were observed between the surface roughness of polishing subgroups in each resin composites (p<0.05). Except for Geanial and Gradia Direct, all resin composites shown significantly lower roughness values in the control group (p<0.05). Also, it was determined that there was a significant difference between the roughness values of the tested resin composites in all polishing groups (p<0.05).
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: The properties of the resin composite used should also be considered while applying the finishing and polishing processes in aesthetic restorations.
